Go Green Foundation is a youth-led environmental organization committed to restoring ecosystems, empowering communities, and inspiring practical sustainability for present and future generations.
Go Green Foundation is an environmental non-profit and civil society organization built around the urgent need to reconnect communities with nature and promote practical environmental stewardship.
Founded in 2011 and officially registered in 2023, the organization has evolved into a growing platform for climate action, environmental education, tree growing, youth leadership, community empowerment, research, and sustainable innovation.
We believe environmental restoration is not only about planting trees. It is also about building responsible communities, expanding opportunities for young people, and advancing solutions that strengthen both people and planet.
Go Green Foundation was founded by John Ongicho, also known as Dr Young Tello, whose environmental vision was deeply inspired by the life and legacy of the late Professor Wangari Maathai.
What began as a passionate response to environmental degradation grew into a movement focused on protecting Mother Nature, mobilizing communities, mentoring youth, and advancing grassroots environmental action across Kenya.
The foundation of this work is rooted in service, environmental responsibility, youth participation, and the belief that real change happens when communities are informed, organized, and empowered to act.
Our work is guided by a clear purpose, a strong identity, and a commitment to environmental and social transformation.
To educate, inspire, and empower individuals and communities to adopt eco-friendly practices, nurture talent, and drive positive environmental and social change.
We advance environmental conservation, climate action, sustainable innovation, and inclusive community transformation through practical programs, partnerships, and public engagement.
To be a leading force in environmental conservation, sustainable living, research, youth empowerment, and community-led climate action.
We envision a world where humanity thrives in harmony with Mother Nature, protects ecosystems, and secures a healthier future for generations to come.
These principles guide how we lead, collaborate, organize, and create lasting value for communities and the environment.
We uphold honesty, transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership in our work and partnerships.
We promote responsible resource use, environmental stewardship, and solutions that endure.
We invest in the leadership, confidence, skills, and voice of youth and communities.
We believe collective action, partnerships, and shared learning are essential for meaningful impact.
We support practical, creative, and community-driven responses to environmental challenges.
We work to ensure environmental action is accessible, relevant, and beneficial to diverse communities.

The organization expanded through tree growing, environmental sensitization, youth mentorship, and local partnerships.
The foundation was officially registered, strengthening its structure, visibility, and capacity as a youth-led nonprofit.
We continue to mobilize communities, empower youth, build partnerships, and advance sustainability through action-oriented programs.
“Let us plant trees, protect water bodies, preserve life, and pass on the sacred torch of knowledge and responsibility to future generations.”
